wow! 2015
long time no post... oh well.
here's a few things i've been working on.. it's a project for Document life project. https://arttothe5th.squarespace.com/
a year long document.
i found these file cards manilla folders at a thrift shop a long time ago. one sheet folded sized about 7x 5 folded. so i thought i would use one per week and see what happens. i haven't figured out how i will bind it all together for now but they all fit exactly in the 7 Gypsies portfolio - the medium one. i've those for many years and finally using one!
the prompts for Jan are:
book paper and be your own goal keeper.
and being me, i can't just done one challenge at a time, i had to do more. so i took my front for this month from Tim Holtz' tag of Jan15 and it's become my cover. i think i will try and do that for each month...
plus i'm going to incorporate some things from Stephanie Ackerman's Documented Faith facebook page. so.... here's the first two weeks.
thanks for looking!

Beauty - its every where
i finally did a layout - took long enough! haven't scrapped in ages.
i was walking last weekend by the river and saw these really pretty thistles. yup they're weeds, but they sure are pretty when they're flowering. you just have to look to see beauty! this week's walk might take me to a different part of the river... we'll see.
i followed the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine sketch challenge - sort of. the layers under the 3 pictures - like that idea.
and i followed the E.Y.E challenge of only using cardstock. and 5 techniques on the cardstock - stamping (which is hard to see in this picture), dry embossing, used a edge punch and the honeycomb die cut, and sanded. there's a little glossy on some of the pieces and i used some of my very very old rub ons and those basic grey chip shapes. wow. the cardstock was from 2008. crazy. the reason i know it was from 2008? it was in the package still, from when i went to Creative Escape in 2008 in AZ and managed to get to the Bazzill warehouse sale.
gotta use it up!
E.Y.E! - expend your excess. new challenge blog by Sue Sykes.
and i do have a excess in scrapbooking. loads and loads. so, yup, i'm going to try and use it up. i probably have enough paper to paper my walls at least 4 layers thick.
standing by and over.
